The self registration here means all the XI components are not getting registered properly in the SLD registration tab when you open the RWB of the respective PI systems .
My last scre enshot explains well.
Are you sure that to make all the corresponding XI components to be registered properly in its own SLD , do i need follow your steps 1 and 2
Rightnow, in SLDAPICUST , the connection details present are central SLD and when i give SLDCHECK, i can open the sld home page properly.
Due to improper registration of XI components in SLD ,PI consultants are not able to save or activate any changes nade in communication channel!!!!
