1- Data in the Dashboard:
When you use the BIWS, you have the possibility to use the latest instance of Webi document. Actually, when you create a BIWS on Webi Document Block, this block is comparable to a <<Cube>> that have the same structure as the block ....
You can also make the data refreshed on demand ...I mean when the user refresh the Dashboard connection.
As shown in the snapshot below, you can set many input parametrs, for example:
-The parameter Refresh = 1 or 0. The value 1 means that the block data will be refreshed when a user refresh the Dashboard connection.
-The parameter GetFromLatestDocumentInstance = 1 or 0. The value 1 means that the Web Service will reteurn the Data of the latest instance.

2- Authorization:
When you use a BIWS (BI web service), you have to specify a user and password (in the inpput parametrs, just like the parametr refresh ...). So the BO server evaluate the rights that this user have on Documents webi data and their instances ...
To avoid specifiying a user and password, you can use BO SSO ...
