Yeah, I also heard that the limit was removed starting either with Crystal Reports 9 or 10. And indeed if I only have one Concatenation with more than 255 characters, the value displays correctly. I only get the error when two consecutive group Concatenations each have more than 255 characters.
I've attached the test RPT (renamed with a .txt extension) that I've been using to mess around with the data set (the SQL is just some statements selecting from dual, which is in the .txt, so it should be able to be run from any Oracle connection). I was wondering if you get the same results from it?
I will talk with our software people and see about updating to at least SP4, it seems like we are still using SP1.
