Re: Searching before asking - a discussion with your friendly neighborhood moderator

Hi Ethan,

Thank you very much for this post.

I have become regular to the forum since a month and I see many repeated question. On a normal day approximately 50% or more of the questions are repeated in BW forums. I had no idea about what to do apart from requesting the OP (full form of OP??) to search and then answer with a link to the old post. Now I know and will make use of the button.

Among the contributors it is like a competition. So majority of them don't care I guess. Who would avoid easy points. Once a repeated question comes, links of older posts are flooded within minutes. Your post will act as an awareness program. Really appreciate your efforts in keeping the forums clean.

In the forum rules (http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-19331) if the below line can be modified with your statement then it will be good.

Click the abuse button - if you believe the  post is inappropriate, offensive or defamatory, and clearly state what fault you found with the posting

Your work is definitely going to increase with more cases of "Report Abuse".

Regards,

Sujit.
