as already mentioned you the following options:

1. Use an ABAP program to call another process chain via API
   
   Pro: Short implementation time
   Con: If you check the log of the process chain you can not determine if the other process chain was started or not, therefore you have to check the log of the new process chain. It's not nice for the BW support team, but it can be handled.
   
   
2. Implement the Decision element that allows ABAP code.
   
   Pro: Very flexible solution.
   Con: A lot of efford is needed to implement it.
3. Use Custom Forumlas for decision in process chain.
   
   Pro: Rather quick implementation and monitoring of process chain is good, no hidden decision in ABAP code.

My personal recommendation would be solution 3. I have used it in some projects and the customer and the BW support team on customer side was satsified with the solution.
